The Rotary Club of Grande Prairie will release a final round of COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund cheques to area food banks this morning. The funds come from the Club’s Dream Home Lottery. During April 50% of Dream Home ticket sales are targeted towards the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund to aid local food banks in response to the pandemic. Peace River $ 2,060
The above amounts are from sales of April 20 – 22, totaling $102,140 and are ON TOP of the cheques sent April 6, 13 and 20. On April 6 $31,275 in cheques were issued and are now at use at the food banks. April 13 it was $47,575. April 20 it is $90,800. This brings the total to $271,790.
The Dream Home draws will be 7:00 PM Friday April 24 at the Dream Home in Taylor Estates, however they will not be open to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “This is a first. We’ve loved having people crowd the garage to watch the draws. However it just cannot be done this year. Only witnesses, management, executive and gaming authorities (AGLC) will attend be permitted to attend, using social distancing practices”. The draws will be live streamed on Facebook.
