The Rotary Club of Grande Prairie released another round of COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund cheques to area food banks. The funds come from the Club’s Dream Home Lottery. During April 50% of Dream Home ticket sales are targeted towards the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund to aid local food banks in response to the pandemic. The funds are to move quickly – and they are.

Cheques announced and sent Monday, April 20 were as follows

Peace River $ 1,835

The above amounts are from sales of April 13 – 20, totaling $90,800 and are ON TOP of the cheques sent April 6 and 13. On April 6 $31,275 in cheques were issued and are now at use at the food banks. April 13 it was $47,575. This brings the total to date to $169,650.

New Horizon Co-op also jumped on board. Amanda Pinard is Marketing Team Leader and says “We donate 3% of our food sales on the 3rd Thursday of each month to local food banks from our local food stores in Grande Prairie, Falher, Valleyview, Rycroft, La Glace, Grande Cache, Beaverlodge and Hythe. This month we wish to support the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund.” The $5400 from New Horizon Co-op is on TOP of the above.
