Another interesting meeting with speakers Salvation Army Captain Peter Kim and Ryan Blais who spoke on Avail GP.
Doug Morris shared that Dough Montgomery and family were overwhelmed by the number of Rotarians and friends that joined the Drive by Birthday Party that celebrated Doug’s 90th Birthday on May 4th. Thanks to Doug’s daughter and Past President Cheryl Montgomery for setting this up. Doug is indeed a treasure to our club and our community.
Karan Sharma updated us on the work of the Khwahish Society feeding the Residents at Rotary House. their goal is that no one goes to bed hungry.
Many thanks to Fellow Rotarian Giandeep Khepar who is the founder, Fellow Rotarian Karan Sharma from Taco Time and the other local restaurants that are making this possible.
Peter zoomed in from the front seat of his truck in Fort Vermillion. The Salvation Army’s mobile canteen is busy feeding families and volunteers that have returned as the flood evacuation order was lifted. Peter told us that because of Covid 19 he Food Bank has contingency plans all the way to December and thanked us for the funds raised from Dream Home ticket sales in April.
